That’s right berry fans, the strawberry season 2008 may be practically finished, but the blueberries are just about ready!
This past weekend we were able to have a special double-header and allowed guests to pick the end of the strawberries and a small early-season section of blueberries.
Be sure you’re calling the Farmer Jones Crop Report line at 203-929-8425 to find out when we will be open for blueberry retail. It’s coming REAL REAL soon! (Shhh, don’t tell anyone I told you – but call later this week!)
We are busy as bees here at the farm. It’s never a rest time here. The winery is still in full swing, new vineyards are reaching for the sky, new strawberry fields are being irrigated, the sweet corn is busy growing, the pumpkins have shown their green leaves through the straw, the pruning of the Christmas trees has begun and so much more!
When you come to pick blueberries with us in the (very) near future, be sure to ask about our corn, pumpkins and more. We love to share information with our guests!
So, we hope we’ll see you soon in the blueberry fields. Trust me – they are very sweet this year – judging from the samples I’ve had. Hey, come on, it’s market research for the blog! It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.
