The Goshen Fair

At the beginning of my vacation, before heading back to NH for the week, my brother came down so that we could attend the Goshen Fair. My brother participates in Woodsmens events, and was part of the competition on both Sunday and Monday at the fair. Having always attended fairs in NH, I was excited to see the agricultural best of CT.

I have always loved agricultural fairs because of their tradition of allowing local farmers to showcase their best animals and crops of the year. After a summer of hard work, it is time to enjoy the fruits of their labors.

We saw horses, cows, pigs, sheep, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, and more. There were giant pumpkins, juicy tomatoes, and beautiful flower displays. We saw tractor pulling, horse pulling, and a 4H goat show. I’m going to miss attending my favorite Deerfield Fair in NH this year, but the Goshen Fair was a pretty good substitute.

To top out the experience, my brother took home a 4th and 5th place in two of the events of the Woodsmens competition, so it was a good weekend.
