Strawberry season is around the corner, and the farm is bustling with activity to prepare for the first fruit harvest of 2012. The fields are full of white flowers waiting for honeybees and native bees to pollinate them. While we did experience some frost damage earlier in the month (see the blackened centers of a few of the flowers in the picture below), there are many more healthy flowers still growing. Some of the earlier buds have even been pollinated already and are forming small green strawberries. Let’s hope for more warm weather to ripen the crop!
